Capt. John P. Campbell of Freeport, Maine, is a Master Maine Guide with Sea Kayaking and Tidewater Fishing. John is a US Coast Guard licensed Captain, he has a Private Pilots license with Instrument rating and he is a certified Wilderness First Responder. John’s extensive experience canoeing, kayaking, camping, wilderness navigation, client care and safety qualify him to teach the subjects needed to become a Registered Maine Guide.

John served with the US Army from 1969 to 1971, he then worked for Bell Atlantic Telephone Co., retiring in 1998 after 25 years of service. John has over 40 years of canoeing experience, he has rafted and fished on wild Alaskan rivers, and has canoed many rivers in Maine and New England. Between guide school classes, fishing trips, and building kayaks, John works for Sea Spray Kayaking where his duties include instruction, daily tours and overnight camping trips on the coast of Maine. He has also guided deer hunters and bird hunters. During the month of October you can find John in the woods bird hunting (one of his greatest passions) with his German Shorthair, KD.
